Golden Aftertone

There's a color in the sky
That reminds me why we tried
Every word is fading slow
But there's something left to hold
Golden light across the room
Chasing away the afternoon
I can feel the memory, but
It doesn't feel the same to me
Maybe nothing stays forever
Maybe that's what makes it better
Every moment leaves a trace Every memory finds its place
Golden afternoon
I can feel it when I'm alone
Golden afternoon
Like a light I still call home Even when the night comes down
I can hear that golden sound
Golden afternoon
Something beautiful I
hold on I remember where we stood Thinking everything was good Now the road has changed its name
But the sunlight feels the same I don't need to turn the clock I don't need to stop the world Something's left
inside the heart Even when the roads depart
And if tomorrow takes me far
I'll remember where we are
Not as something I must keep
But as something warm and deep Golden afternoon Golden afternoon
